Metallization is used on structures where maintenance is particularly difficult or where operating conditions are particularly severe. Each process involves different types and sizes of particles with variable dust concentrations as they can be explosive and / or flammable. The potential for fire and explosion is very real so it requires proper ventilation and suitable ATEX measures.
Based on the various types of metallization applications and their effects on the operation of the dust collectors, it is important to identify the specific metallization application.
Metallization is the most advanced and expensive anti-corrosion process. It requires a high level sandblasting and a roughness suitable for the thickness to be applied. On the treated surface, molten metal is sprayed with compressed air from an electric arc. The metal used is a wire of adequate size and composition (Zinc / Zinc Alloys / Aluminum / Aluminum Alloys / (Magnesium) / Iron ...). CAMIT, depending on the type of spraying system used with hourly capacity and type of wire, calculates an optimal filtered air flow rate.
The total amount of air sucked in is sufficient to ensure that the metallization powders are not freely dispersed in the environment, but are captured by the flow of air sucked in for filtration.
